In early May, Paxton Products participated in the WalMart Expo, sponsored by WalMart and Sam's Club for their suppliers. The Expo gathered suppliers of all types involved in packaging and highlighted sustainability and green initiatives. WalMart suppliers learned of the 80% reduction in energy usage possible when switching from compressed air drying to a Paxton Air System.
The WalMart scorecard is a mechanism for for Walmart to measure their supplies on sustainability and green initiatives. Energy reduction initiatives are part of the score card. The score card initiatives evolved from 7 R's of Packaging: Remove, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Renew, Revenue, and Read.
Paxton, and other Expo participants, focused on success stories:
•The commercial bakery that reduced energy usage by over 60% by switching to a Paxton drying system for its plastic trays
•The soda bottling facility that had to return on investment of less than 6 months when they switched from compressed air to a Paxton system for drying prior to date coding
